Who's Who in the Superman Comics

S.T.A.R. Labs

S.T.A.R. (Scientific and Technological Advanced Research Laboratories) Labs - A high-tech company that operates several laboratories and research facilities across the United States and in some foreign areas. At one time, LexCorp attempted a corporate hostile takeover of S.T.A.R. Labs, to get a psionics lab. There was a S.T.A.R. facility in downtown Metropolis which was destroyed, and later replaced by one near Metropolis. Superman often works with the Metropolis S.T.A.R. facility, including former director Dr. Kitty Faulkner, when needing scientific assistance. Recently, Superman found Dr. Burton Thompson has become the new director at the Metropolis lab. Thompson was handling research he didn't want Superman to know about, but the Parasite caused monsters Thompson was working on to escape. Creatures again escaped STAR Labs when the creature(s) known as Riot set about their release into the streets of Metropolis (AOS #569).
