Who's Who in the Superman Comics

Orion

Orion

The true son of Darkseid, Orion was raised by Highfather of New Genesis, as part of a peace pact between the two worlds of New Genesis and Apokolips. Highfather raised Orion in a tranquil and peaceful environment, allowing the young man to mature in to a brave and courageous warrior. However, Orion is still Darkseid's biological son. Whenever Orion becomes angry, his entire face contorts into bestial proportions. He slips into a deadly rage that is hard to stop. Therefore, Orion's Mother Box(a palmsize, sentient supercomputer) tries to soothe the savage beast within Orion, and control his demeanor.

Orion possesses superhuman strength. Besides his Mother Box, he also uses an astroglider, an advanced harness, that allows him to fly at super speed. The astroglider can be used as a weapon as well, as it can fire astrobeams at Orion's foes, or other targets. Orion also uses the astroglider's force field to travel into deep space and underwater.

Much like his biological father, Orion explores the Anti-Life Equation. He has gone on several excursions into the outer limits of space, exploring the atoms of life. Recently, Orion joined the Justice League, along with Big Barda, and continues to battle evil on Earth and throughout the universe.
