In spite of Batman's recruiting Madame Xanadu and her magic to neutralize the Daxamites, the Eradicator's army has beaten the Justice League, forcing them to retreat. Wonder Woman has bought them some time to do so. Yet, it may not be enough. She is an unconscious prisoner of the Eradicator, and he and the Daxamites have sent a message throughout the world. Your heroes are defeated, and your world belongs to us.

5Story - 5: A lot of action occurs in this issue. Robert Venditti is taking this title on a similar, yet different direction from what Scott Snyder did. Snyder treated it like an event book. Venditti is doing the same, but he seems to be focusing more on what's going on in the League's own backyard instead of the entire multiverse at this point of his run. There are some points I'd prefer to discuss when this arc is finished, depending on how they pan out. Yet, two issues in, the story is a fast, fun read that will make you want to subscribe to the comic or add it to your pull list. It's just that good.

5Art - 5: I wasn't expecting a different artist for this issue. However, I do like Lopresti's art. Check out his work on Wonder Woman and The Incredible Hulk if you haven't already.

5Cover Art - 5: Now, this is a great Bryan Hitch cover even if it does spoil some events in the comic.

5Variant Cover Art - 5: Jamal Campbell's style is relatively new for me. That doesn't prevent this from being a well rendered cover though. I hope DC uses him on future projects.
