In the previous issue Clark had stood between a man and one of the Luthor-guns. He was blasted and fell on the ground. This issue starts with the man paying for his meal and running away. The diner manager calls for someone to help Clark, but he disappears before anyone can take a look at him. Superman thanks the people for trying to help. The Luthor-gun targets him as a super-villain. Superman destroys the Luthor-gun prompting Luthor, in private, to remark that Superman was outdated and that the city now belonged to him. Superman becomes targeted by numerous Luthor-guns, which overpower and threaten to kill him. This prompts staff from the Daily Planet and people on the street to attack the guns. Luthor reacts by initiating the Superman protocol for his guns, turning the globe at the top of the Daily Planet into a giant cannon. Superman destroys the cannon and confronts Luthor. The final page shows Luthor coming out of the courthouse defiantly decrying his treatment from Superman.

3Story - 3: I understand what this story is trying to do. Superman has always striven to bring peace to Metropolis by inspiring people to be their best selves. Luthor attempts to bring order to Metropolis through fear and violence. When the people of Metropolis fight against the guns to defend Superman they are showing how much more effect hope is than fear. It's a nice story with a beautiful message of what Superman can mean to people, in the comics and in the real world. However, the story just feels flat. It all happens so quickly that I never got a sense of what Metropolis was becoming under Luthor's guns. I'm not a fan of decompressed stories, and the "one and dones" have been fun in this title. Yet, for this story, it needed more time.

5Art - 5: The art was fantastic as always. The action looked great. The guns firing on Superman created a really cool visual. The transformation of the globe was a fun addition and visually looked interesting.

5Cover Art - 5: This cover builds on the cliffhanger from the previous issue. It creates intrigue by showing Clark on the ground with a smoking Luthor-gun behind him. The shocked man that Clark rescued adds a nice touch to the overall feeling of the cover.
