Supergirl is free of infection, but not entirely of its mental toll. Now back in action, Kara sees a hurricane and races to stop it... except visions of her actions while infected cloud her mind. Shaking it off Kara races to help those in the hurricane's path. Krypto returns and is relieved Supergirl is cured and the two share a fleeting moment of friendship and forgiveness.

Kara's visions cloud again and she finds herself on Argo, when in reality she is in the home of a civilian as it succumbs to the hurricane.

General Banes is watching Supergirl via satellite feeds and decides to take action against the Girl of Steel purely over her prejudice and suspicion that Supergirl is still under the Batman Who Laughs' control.

Supergirl finds two children that have been separated from their parents. They refuse to leave their home in case their parents make it back, so Kara asks Krypto to protect them while she gets them supplies.

Kara's visions worsen but she refuses to succumb to them and after ensuring the children are safe in their home she and Krypto search for survivors. General Banes has other ideas and arrives with a final ultimatum for Supergirl.

3Story - 3: During the storyline 'Grounded' many years ago, Superman and a leather clad Wonder Woman faced a natural disaster that they could barely handle. Here Supergirl is up against a hurricane laying waste to Florida. Supergirl is still tortured by her evil side and her worthiness of carrying the mantle of Supergirl and while that side of things is executed well, the hurricane seems non existent. In the writing and the art, the hurricane is a major threat that could be epic... but isn't.

The scene with Krypto and Kara making up was nicely done, however, the same scene was played out only a few months prior when Supergirl was under the influence of Rogol Zaar's axe. It was told better there but only served not highlight the recycling of plot elements.

General Banes is a two dimensional copy of General Sam Lane. The foreshadowing of her character in a few panels last issue and her motivation seems a bit forced.

Given the epic run prior to this infected arc, it would have made more sense for the final villain of the series to be Rogol Zaar, The Circle or Gandelo exacting revenge. Instead a z-lister like Banes (in cut price Iron Man armor) will be the end of Kara Zor-El?

It's like DC has given up on Supergirl.

3Art - 3: The artwork looks good for the character moments. The art is clear and bold and Scott clearly excels with character scenes. I just feel that the hurricane could have been rendered as a much bigger threat especially given we're knowingly at the end of the series.

5Cover Art - 5: Pretty good cover showing some of the core aspects of the character... her life on Argo, her life as Kara Danvers and her diseased faze. You can see the emotional toll it has wrought on Kara and it foreshadows the final arc really well.

5Variant Cover Art - 5: An absolutely amazing cover that highlights even more the disaster Supergirl was up against in the book, but escalates it significantly. I don't always like the angry eyes elements of the Superbooks but this is done with an amazing visual impact.
