September 27, 2001: "Smallville" Around the World (Update)
While we know that "Smallville" will air on Tuesday October 16th at 9pm in the U.S., fans in other parts of the world may have to wait a bit longer before it lands on their shores.Comics2Film reports that Canadian fans may have to wait till 2002. Global TV in Canada have announced that they plan to hold the show until the new year. Although several local channels are reported to start broadcasting the show on October 16th, the same as The WB network in America. Fans in Alberta and Mantioba are in luck as the A-Channel is possibly airing the show even earlier than the premiere in the U.S.! Furthermore, most cable markets in Canada now include WB anyway so it might not be an issue many Canadians will have to worry about.
While in Australia, the Nine Network has confirmed with the Superman Homepage that they will indeed be airing "Smallville", but no schedule date has been chosen, although early 2002 looks likely.
