October 15, 2001: "Smallville" TV News
While we all eagerly wait in anticipation for the show's pilot episode, the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly reports that week-old repeats of "Smallville" might be showing up on the TNT cable network as early as next season. A similar deal has recently been signed for TNT to air "Charmed" this way, and it sounds like that might be a possibility for some other WB programs, such as "Smallville" and "Gilmore Girls", next year.Looking at the TV Guide Online website, they have the Pilot Episode of "Smallville" and the 2nd episode "Metamorphosis" listed in their scheduled time-slots (Tuesday 16th and 23rd respectively), but they also have "Metamorphosis" listed down for a repeat showing on Saturday October 27th at 9pm.
It's also being reported that the pilot episode of "Smallville" will be running a few minutes longer than usual hour-long programs. Still beginning at 9pm, it has been speculated that the pilot episode may creep a little bit into the 10pm hour. Having seen the pilot episode, I'm glad they've decided to allow this rather than chop out any scenes.
