October 17, 2001: Animated Superman Coming to DVD
WB announced last night in a WB Home Video/DVD Chat Event that if response behind the release of "The Superman/Batman Movie: World's Finest" to DVD is large enough, then more episodes will be released. The VHS of the three part episodes, released as a movie with episodes edited togethor, has been a hot seller and performed very well when initially released on video. Copies of the VHS are still sold to this date, but the demand has since gone down when the video was released more than three years ago. Also, WB said they would be interested in releasing a new cut of Superman II only if Richard Donner was involved. Although recutting and re-doing Superman II would be an expensive project and they likely won't proceed.
