November 28, 2001: "Smallville" Around the World
I recently contacted my sources at Warner Bros. International and asked them when "Smallville" would air in countries outside the U.S.We know that "Smallville" premiered in Canada on the 23rd of November, but what of its continuation there? And what about other countries? Here's the answer I received...
"International airdates will take some time (usually a year after U.S. broadcast premiere). The only one currently scheduled is Canada. The Global Television network aired the first three episodes back-to-back on Friday, November 23. They will air two more on Friday, November 30. But these are special one-time-only broadcasts; the actual ongoing series has not yet been scheduled by Global."
Other sources indicate that Global TV is expected to air the episode "Hourglass" on December 7th. Also, a Canadian website for Smallville, via GlobalTV is expected to be online soon. Perhaps we'll learn more about Canada's airing schedule for "Smallville" then.
Looks like the U.K., Australia, and others will just have to wait a bit longer...
