December 25, 2001: DVD Release Dates for "Batman/Superman" and "Justice League"

Toon Zone reports that Warner Bros. Animation have announced that April 23, 2002 will be the date for the release of "The Batman/Superman Movie: World's Finest" and "Justice League" on DVD.

WB will also release three other Batman-related DVDs on this day. They include: "Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub Zero", "Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker" (original cut), and "Batman: The Animated Series - The Legend Begins".

Here are more detailed descriptions for the Superman-related DVDs...

Batman/Superman DVD Menu The Batman/Superman Movie: World's Finest
This DVD will collect the three part Superman episode "World's Finest" which was put to VHS in 1998. The VHS was a huge seller and still sells well to this day. The three part team up was originally aired in fall of 1997 and was supposed to introduce Batman onto the network, but Kids'WB! jumped the gun and aired two episodes of Batman before the three part team up aired. The disc will likely just collect the episodes and have little or no extras. The plot of the episodes involve Joker and Luthor teaming up to bring down Superman and Batman.
Release Date: April 23rd, 2002.

Justice League DVD Menu Justice League: The Movie
This DVD contains the three part series opener "Secret Origins" for Justice League. The plot revolves around the Earth's greatest heroes saving the earth from a massive alien invasion. The sales of this DVD will likely determine whether or not more Justice League episode arcs are released to DVD. This disc is expected to contain a small amount of extras.
Release Date: April 23rd, 2002.
