March 27, 2001: Whitney Ellsworth "Smallville" Tribute Revoked
The "Smallville" character previously listed as Whitney Ellsworth has had a name change and will now be known as Whitney Fordman. Whitney Fordman, Lana Lang's football quarterback boyfriend in the up-coming TV show "Smallville" is being played by Eric Johnson. The real Whitney Ellsworth was the much-loved Producer of the 1950s "The Adventures of Superman" TV series starring George Reeves. Why the name had to be changed is not 100% clear, but "Chloe" my inside source, tells me that there were some legal issues tied up with the use of the name that forced the change.
