Geoff and his work won the following categories in the 2008 SHIELD Awards:
- BEST WRITER.
- "Action Comics" was voted BEST SUPERMAN TITLE.
- "Justice Society of America" was voted BEST SUPERMAN FAMILY TITLE.
- "Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds" won the BEST ONE SHOT, LIMITED SERIES, OR GUEST APPEARANCE category.
- "Brainiac" (Action Comics #866-870) won BEST STORT/STORY ARC IN THE REGULAR SUPERMAN TITLES.
- "One World Under Gog" (Justice Society of America #16-20) won the BEST STORY/STORY-ARC IN A SUPERMAN FAMILY/RELATED TITLE category.
