February 25, 2008: Dan Jurgens Talks Tangent Superman
Comicon.com spoke with Dan Jurgens, one of the people responsible for the Tangent Universe's creation, to find out what the story is with his Tangent Superman set to be released in March in "Tangent: Superman Reign". Here's a portion of the interview...
- Q: What is the state of that world like when Tangent: Superman's Reign begins?
JURGENS: It's a world that is greatly influenced and affected by the presence of greatly powered individuals. We saw some of that when the series first ran and that influence has increased dramatically.
Q: How is the Tangent Superman different from the mainstream DCU version of Big Blue?
JURGENS: Besides the obvious differences in appearance and powers, the DC Superman has always operated on a very moral level. He has always wanted to fit in and be accepted by mankind. The Tangent Superman is putting himself above mankind.
Q: What makes the two similar?
JURGENS: The sheer level of absolute power. Beyond that... not much.
