June 21, 2008: Superman News From Charlotte Heroes Con

Newsarama.com has some Superman-related news from the DC Nation Panel at the Charlotte Heroes Con in North Carolina. DC Executive Editor Dan Didio presided over a panel that included Senior Coordinating Editor Jann Jones, writer (and inker) Jimmy Palmiotti; writer Matt Sturges; and artist Ethan VanSciver. According to Newsarama, Superman fans can look forward to a new, as yet unnamed team for the "Supergirl" comic and more synchronicity between "Superman", "Action", and "Supergirl":
Moving on to Superman, DiDio announced that there will be a new creative team moving on to the Supergirl title shortly, and that the series will tie in more directly with Action Comics and Superman in the future. A major storyline that will encompass the three titles will begin, according to DiDio, in October.

Didio also answered a one-word question from a fan, "Superboy?", with "Dead" though it's unclear if he was speaking of Kon-El or the adventures of Superman when he was a boy/teen.

UPDATE: Didio was also asked when the "Linda Danvers Supergirl" would be seen again and he replied "this month", according to the Newsarama piece. Comic Book Resources reported in their convention coverage that "The Peter David Supergirl, Linda Danvers, will be making an appearance, somewhere in the DCU later this month". However, without an exact quote from Didio, it's not certain if Didio meant that the Matrix/Earth Angel Supergirl would return or if Kara Zor-El will be adopting a new 'Linda Danvers' secret identity. Stay tuned.
