April 4, 2008: “Action Comics #1” Listed on Ebay
A "Very Good" edition of "Action Comics #1" is currently listed on Ebay.com.As any Superman fan knows, "Action Comics #1" contains Superman's first ever appearance and has a cover date of June 1938. It is the most valuable comic for a given condition, and less than 100 copies are known to exist.
The issue on auction is listed as being in VG (Very Good) condition, and according to Wikipedia there are only five known copies with a grade above VG (CGC 4.0), with a single issue having the best grade of VF+ (CGC 8.5).
As of this posting there have been over 50 bids placed, with the current bid standing at over US$72,000. But the reserve set by the seller has not been met yet.
