November 6, 2008: A Tribute to Jerry and Joe

For 70 years Superman has been a part of many people's lives. You've seen him on TV, in the movies, in comic books, on T-shirts, on cereal boxes, toys, and much more. How many people have seen the items that started it all? Cleveland based collector and authority, Jamie Reigle, has been collecting Superman memorabilia for the last 30 years. Over the years his collection has grown to approximately 30,000 different items from all over the world.

On November 9th, 2008, Jamie will be digging into the archives and displaying various items from his private collection at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Beachwood, OH. The display will consist of the very first Superman item ever produced and other early original Superman items dating back to 1939. Superman premium items, tin wind up toys, pins, cards, and other promotional items will also be on display. The history on all incarnations of the character will also be available.

This display will be shown on November 9th, 2008 from Noon until 4:00 PM in the main lobby of the Maltz Museum. While you are there, be sure to view the "Zap! POW! BAM! The Superhero" exhibit as well as the Siegel & Shuster exhibit in the main gallery. This Exhibit is FREE with Museum Admission.
