June 16, 2008: Interview with Kurt Busiek on "Trinity" #2
Newsarama.com has an interview with writer Kurt Busiek regarding the second issue of "Trinity". Busiek discusses working with co-writer Fabian Nicieza, more about the development of the story, and the relationship between the lead and back-up in each issue. He also talks about new characters Konvikt and Graak:
- This is their first appearance, so everything we want to tell you is there on the page. I'd resist the urge to think, "Hmm, big strong alien, that must be all there is to him," and pay attention to what he says and does and why -- and to what Graak says and does and why, which don't always match up. These two guys have been thrown together by circumstance, but they don't want the same things out of life. Still, they need each other.
They are going to be important, and there's a lot going on inside Konvikt's head that he can't really express because he doesn't speak English, and Graak can't explain because he doesn't know it himself. We'll be getting deeper into him as the series rolls on, though.
