January 8, 2008: Jesus Merino Talks About Inking Superman
Comicon's The Pulse caught up with inker Jesus Merino to talk about his work on Superman comics, who he's inspired by, and what he thinks of the Man of Steel. Here's part of the interview...
- Q: What do you personally admire the most about the concept of someone like Superman?
MERINO: I think it could be that after all these years on the run, he has been faithful to the same set of values for almost a century. If you think about it carefully, it's a mythological hero's work. And in the days we are living, it's even more complicated. It must be a temptation (if you are strong enough, if you have the power) to take control of the world that surrounds you in order to protect whatever is important to you. That's his true power. He'll never do it. And a lot of people should take note....
