April 14, 2004: Chris Reeve and Tom Welling Talk “Legacy” Episode
Last night Extra aired a segment on tonight's new "Smallville" episode. In this segment Christopher Reeve said how happy he was to be returning to the character of Dr Swann after a year."It makes me feel that I'm not separated from life before the injury," Reeve said, "that there is still a continuity to it. And that really brings a lot of pleasure."
Reeve said "Smallville" star Tom Welling is a worthy choice to carry on the legacy of Superman/Clark Kent.
"He's very open and very unspoiled," Reeve said. "Those are the qualities you want in a young Clark Kent."
Welling in turn also had nice things to say about Christopher Reeve, "It's fascinating to me, to be around him. I mean, you talk about someone who is a real-life hero."
The WB have released an online video of Tom Welling talking to Extra about the dynamics of the episode "Legacy", while fan site Devoted to Smallville has published a WMV online video of the Extra TV segment.
Don't forget that this new episode of "Smallville" is due to air in the U.S. tonight (Wednesday April 14) at 8pm. Here's the official description from the WB...
- When Jonathan (John Schneider) begins to act strangely, Clark (Tom Welling) believes Jor-El is sending Jonathan messages through the key and is the cause for his father's withdrawal from the family. Clark goes down to the caves to confront his biological father but Lionel (John Glover) catches him there and begins putting the pieces together - leading him straight to Dr. Swann (guest star Christopher Reeve). As the two billionaires face off, a deal is struck and Lionel's true motives are revealed.
Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum., Allison Mack, Sam Jones III and Annette O'Toole also star. Greg Beeman directed the episode written by Jeph Loeb.
