The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has published a glowing review of the "Smallville" Season 2 DVD box set. Here's an excerpt from the article...

The DVD format is perfect for a series such as "Smallville" because it enables casual viewers to pick up the back story at their leisure. If they watch the third season's reruns this summer, they'll be ready for season No. 4 this fall.

And they should watch. "Smallville" is as good as "The X-Files" ever was, even though it has not attained the mainstream pop culture success. Welling plays a callow farm boy learning to accept with surprising believability that he is the last survivor of a dead world- even though it's a bit hard to accept that a kid this good-looking can be considered a nerd by his Smallville High School classmates.

What makes "Smallville" sing is the supporting cast. John Schneider and Annette O'Toole are terrific as Jonathan and Martha Kent, Clark's adoptive parents. For "Dukes of Hazzard" fans, its nice to see that Schneider has solid acting chops. As the moral, farm-wise father trying to guide his special-needs son on the right path, Schneider plays perhaps the best male character on the show.
