February 3, 2004: Superman/Batman vs Aliens/Predator
Mark Schultz (writer) and Ariel Olivetti (artist) are teaming up to do a "Superman/Batman vs Aliens/Predator" comic to be co-published by DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics.ZonaComics recently published an interview (in Spanish) with Ariel Olivetti about his work, amongst which he had this to say about this project...
- Q: Do the editors typically propose projects for you to draw, or simply order you to work in a particular way?
A: It can be done both ways. At times, they propose work, other times they ask me what would make me happy and I throw out some ideas. This is the case with the project with Dark Horse, I threw out an idea where Batman and Superman encounter these monsters, it's amusing, and I like it. From there, they [DC Comics] managed to pull off a deal with Dark Horse and the project went through.
