August 30, 2004: Jeph Loeb Says “Tom Welling is NOT Superman”
BlueTights.net interviewed Jeph Loeb recently, and amongst many things (including his writing "Superman/Batman" comics and how he feels about writing Superman) Jeph made this comment in regards to the possibility of Tom Welling playing Superman in the up-coming movie...
- It would be great to have Tom play Superman in the movie -- it's the perfect transition. But that would push the movie back two years since we're planning [Smallville] through Season 6 at least and that's not going to happen. They'll find someone great -- they always do!
In other Tom Welling news, there have been reports that the next movie Tom Welling will be appearing in is actually "Batman Begins". A scan of a Cast/Character sheet reportedly from "Batman Begins" is floating around, and it lists a T. Welling under the character name "Kent". Warner Bros. have come out and announced that this rumor is false, and that the scan of the Cast sheet is a fake.
