September 26, 2004: Sam Heughan Meets with Bryan Singer
A source emailed in to confirm that Sam Heughan has met with Bryan Singer to try out for the lead role in the new Superman movie.For those of you who don't know who he is... He comes straight from the "Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama" and in 2003 he was nominated in the Most Promising Performer category, in Britain's prestigious "Lawrence Olivier Awards".
Our source says, "I spoke directly with the assistant to his UK agent Routh Young who informed me that she spoke with Sam's US agent Paul Coates. She went on to say that Sam is currently in LA and a meeting with Singer has been set up by his US agents at ICM and since finishing the filming of his title role in "Young Alexander" his schedule is now clear."
On an interesting side note "Young Alexander" was produced by Ilya Salkind who produced the previous Superman films, Supergirl movie, and the Superboy TV series.
