December 7, 2004: Jimmy Olsen - Topher Out? Ashmore In?
With Brandon Routh confirmed as the man taking on the role of Superman, speculations are running hot as to who will fill the other cast positions. Today the spotlight falls on the role of Jimmy Olsen.The two names being tossed around have been Topher Grace and Shawn Ashmore. However IGN FilmForce spoke with Topher Grace this past weekend at the press day for his latest project "In Good Company". Here's what IGN FilmForce are reporting...
- "No, everyone's asking," Grace says. "No, I never got the call. I think I know the guy who's playing that role."
- "I'm always the last to know about these things, but there's nothing solid, so we're just waiting to see", said Ashmore. (A few minutes later, Ashmore's Earthsea co-star Kristin Kreuk, a star on Smallville, let slip that she thought it was wonderful that Shawn was involved with the movie. Maybe he told her something that he didn't want us to know just yet? Hmm.)
