October 19, 2004: Christopher Reeve Private Memorial Service
Family of Christopher Reeve to Hold a Private Memorial Service on October 29thDana Reeve Releases Letter of Thanks
The Reeve Family, in conjunction with the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, announced today plans for a private memorial service to commemorate the life of Christopher Reeve. The invitation only service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on October 29th at The Julliard School in New York City.
Approximately 900 hundred guests are expected to attend and invitations will be sent this week directly to family, friends and people affiliated with Mr. Reeve's Foundation. Information for media interested in capturing arrivals at the service will be released on Monday, October 25th. The family asks that their privacy continue to be respected.
Also today, Dana Reeve released an open letter to family, friends and supporters in response to the outpouring of support her family has received since the passing of her husband Christopher. Her letter can be viewed in its entirety at www.christopherreeve.org.
For those who care to do so, the family has requested that donations rather than flowers be made in his honor to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation. Cards may be sent to the family in care of the Foundation at 500 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081.
