August 30, 2004: Lenny Luthor Remembers “Superman IV”

Jon Cryer, who played Lenny Luthor in "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace", was a special guest on the August 23 edition of the Late Show with David Letterman in the U.S.

Now starring alongside Charlie Sheen in the comedy TV series "Two And A Half Men", Jon Cryer talked about "Superman IV" and told Letterman that from what he understood the film was released unfinished and that is why it seems they had only one flying shot of Superman flying towards the camera that they used over and over again. When he mentioned his character's name (Lenny Luthor) the audiance laughed and he remarked that he did not have that reaction about it when he first learnt of the role, but admitted that maybe he should have.

Cryer revealed that he and Gene Hackman did not get along too well after he corrected Gene on his pronunciation of the word "Nuclear".
