May 20, 2004: Donner Against Making a New Superman Movie
Richard Donner, director of "Superman: The Movie" spoke at a big screen presentation of the "Special Edition" extended version of his film at LA's Arclight Cinema, and had a few things to say in regards to the making of a new Superman movie...Basically, Richard Donner isn't too thrilled about the idea of making a new Superman film. He feels it's already been done so why do it again. He's still very pleased with the special effects of the original movie and thinks they still stand up even by today's standard.
He also briefly mentioned his involvement on "Superman II" but made no mention of the possibility of releasing his own version of the film.
