September 10, 2003: Al Gough Talks “Smallville” Season 3 Opener
Entertainment Weekly have published a report on their look at the U.S. Fall TV 2003 line-up, and spoke with Executive Producer Al Gough about what fans can expect out of the "Smallville" Season 3 opener due to air on October 1st at 8pm on the WB. Here's an excerpt from the article..."The season opener is a two-parter," says exec producer Al Gough, "because there's so much s--- going on, it takes two episodes to clean it up." Allow us to play pooper-scooper: Lana Lang (Kristen Kreuk) searches for Clark Kent (Tom Welling), who has embraced his dark side and run away to Metropolis, where he meets up with crime boss Morgan Edge ("Blade Runner"'s Rutger Hauer). Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) survives a plane crash and tries to figure out if his fiance (Emmanuelle Vaugier) or his father (John Glover) set him up. Clark will encounter future Daily Planet editor Perry White and possibly Jimmy Olsen. Oh, and maybe one other DC Comics crusader. "We'd love to get Bruce Wayne," says Gough. "But it's a constant battle to get through the AOL Time Warner matrix." Pun intended.
