September 8, 2003: “Smallville” Around the World

While American fans await the premiere on Season 3 of "Smallville", around the rest of the world "Smallville" continues to expand its fan base.

Ivan Vivas Arias wrote in to tell us that "Smallville" Season 2 will premiere in Spain on free-to-air television on Channel TVE1 at 10pm this Tuesday (September 9th). Season 2 already premiered this past weekend on Pay-Per-View channel Canal in Spain.

Meanwhile in Australia, Channel 9 (who stopped running Season 2 episodes quite a few months ago) originally claimed that the completion of Season 2 of "Smallville" would return some time in September. Having spoken with the programming department at Channel 9 myself, they're now claiming it won't return till some time in either October or November... *sigh*

Christophe T. Stevenson emailed in to let us know that "Smallville" will begin to air in French in Quebec debuting on October 24th on the VRAK TV channel. No exact time has been scheduled at this early date, but stay tuned and we'll keep you informed.

While on the subject of things French, the complete Season 1 of "Smallville" on DVD will be available in France from November 13th. Produced as a twin-set compilation, each set contains 3 DVDs. You can pre-order set 1 and set 2 from Amazon France. Thanks to Sebastien for this information.
