May 19, 2003: Temporary Axing of “Smallville” in Australia
Australian fans got a big scare on Saturday night when Channel 9 announced the end of "Smallville" for season 2... after only the 7th episode of the new season!The Superman Homepage contacted Channel 9's programming department first thing Monday morning and learnt that Channel 9 have temporarily stopped showing "Smallville" as ratings in its Saturday evening time slot were not good... No surprise there! Saturday evenings has got to be the worst time slot for regular viewing... I can't believe Channel 9 didn't see this coming!!
The good news (if you want to look at it that way) is that Season 2 of "Smallville" will return probably around September... back (most likely according to Channel 9) to its Tuesday evening position.
Proof once again that Channel 9 has no idea when it comes to making programming decisions.
