October 30, 2003: Superman in Latin America

Latin American Superman fans can really look forward to next week because starting on Saturday November 1st Cartoon Newtork will be premiering the new season of "Justice League", with part 1 of the episode "Twiligth", featuring Darkseid.

Then on Tuesday November 4th you'll get to see the season 2 premiere of "Smallville" guest starring Rutger Hauer as Morgan Edge in a Two part season opener. Also, Canal Caracol of Colombia has a sucessfull run of "Smallville", featuring every sunday at 1:00pm, two episodes of the second season. The series premiered last June, and quickly became a hit in younger, teen and young adult wievers.

Also in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina, Mexican comics editor Grupo Editorial Vid is distributing special editions of related Superman DC Comics titles, including JLA #17 and #18 (JLA issues 46, 47, 48 and 49 by Mark Waid, Bryan Hitch and Paul Neary) in a 48 pages format, "Superman: The Dark Side" part 3 by John Francis Moore and Kyeron Dwyer, "Wonder Woman: Spirit of Truth" by Paul Dini and Alex Ross, "Superman vs. Predator" by David Michelinie and Alex Maleev, and the first four issues of the "Our Worlds at War" arc. Finally, Mattel in South America has on sale more Justice League action figures, including the two packs featuring Nigth Fligth Batman and Superman and Superman vs. Armor Assault Lex Luthor, the Mega Armor series featuring Batman, the Flash and Superman, and the hard to find Hawkgirl. Still avaliable are the 10 inch assortment of figures featuring Superman, Batman, Flash and Green Lantern, Power Escape Superman and the Batman/Superman two pack inspired in the comics and sculpted by the Four Horsemen.
