Superman (Justice League)

January 16, 2003: Darkseid in “Justice League” & Superman in “Static Shock”

Animation Insider has learned from a reliable source that Michael Ironside will reprise the role of Superman nemesis, Darkseid on the "Justice League" season opener, "Twilight." Previously, Ironside had voiced the character on "Superman: The Animated Series." The episode will likely premiere this March on Cartoon Network, although no time and date has been confirmed as of yet.

"Twilight" will feature many of the New Gods characters created by the legendary Jack Kirby. In addition to Darkseid, Orion, Darkseid's birth-son, as well as Lightray and Highfather, among other characters, will make appearances throughout the course of the two-part episode.

Ron Perlman (Orion), Rob Paulson (Lightray), and Mitch Ryan (Highfather) all provided voices on "Twilight."

Animation Insider has also learnt that Superman will make an appearance in the third season of the WB animated series "Static Shock".

The episode is titled "Toys in the Hood" and sees Static teams up with Superman when the Man of Steel's old nemesis, Toyman, arrives in Dakota on a kidnapping scheme.

We'll try and keep you notified of the airing schedule for this episode when the information becomes available.
