June 13, 2013: Ohio May Be Getting Superman "S" License Plate

The Columbus Dispatch reported on June 12 that "state lawmakers are moving on a plan to create a license plate honoring the character's Ohio roots":

The idea was proposed last year, but it stalled in the Senate and died at the end of the session. The current bill passed the House and had its first Senate hearing yesterday.

Under the procedure for creating license plates, Patmon's office had to get signatures from 500 supporters committed to ordering one. To purchase a plate, motorists must donate at least $10 to the Siegel & Shuster Society, a Cleveland-based nonprofit dedicated to celebrating the hero's Ohio origins.
