April 5, 2007: “Superman Legends #1” Debuts April 19th in the UK
From a Titan Magazines press release: "Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? No, it's the first issue of Superman Legends! Titan Publishing is proud to announce that The Man of Steel is back on UK newsstands, and he's here to stay."Metropolis is as dangerous as ever and only one super hero can help rid the City of evil and that super hero is Superman! Each issue will contain 84 action packed pages featuring three of the greatest Superman tales, including 'Superman for Tomorrow', 'All Star Superman' and 'Superman/Batman Public Enemies'.
"In this first issue we start with the gripping Superman For Tomorrow storyline told by artist Jim Lee ('Batman: Hush', 'All Star Batman' and 'Robin the Boy Wonder: Episode One') and writer Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets, Hellblazer). 'For Tomorrow' follows Superman as he returns from a journey to the stars, only to find his adopted home planet an uncertain place. People are vanishing - and where was the Man of Steel when they needed him? Even superpowers can't protect him from guilt, and it may already be too late to save the world...
"Comics writer extraordinaire Grant Morrison (Gothic, Batman & Son) shows his vision of the Man of Tomorrow in 'All Star Superman', and its like nothing you've seen before. Lex Luthor, evil genius and arch-enemy of Superman has been specially released from jail to work for the military. With a band of mad scientists bent on breeding his replacement, and Lois doing nothing for his self-esteem, our hero's gonna need more than one instalment to solve this problem...
"'Superman/Batman Public Enemies', written by Jeph Loeb ('Batman Hush'), contains a story so huge it took two comics to tell it continues in this first issue of Superman Legends, and the word is out - President Lex Luthor has captured Batman and Superman.
