Reverse Slash, Jokerzard, and Atrocitaurus battle Green Torch, Flashraptor and Aquanyx. Giganta and Brontozarro still combat Supersaur, Batsaur and Wonderdon. As you recall, Giganta and Brontozarro tried to capture humans, but all these dinovillains must give humans as tribute to the Dark Embryo. The Dark Embryo feeds on the life energy of beings, and he has chosen this Earth to be his meal before hatching.

The injured Black Mantasaurus wants to return to the Dark Embryo to heal. Aquanyx pursues him to get his trident back. That is still in Black Mantasaurus' skull. Meanwhile, Green Torch and Flashraptor take on Atrocitaurus. Aquanyx follows Black Mantasaurus to a cave where the Dark Embryo is a about to hatch.

5Story - 5: I'll admit I saw some scenes coming before reading them in this issue. However, that didn't make it less fun to read. This is still, bar none, the most entertaining comic DC has published to date. It takes superhero tropes and stands them on their ears by putting them a world full of dinosaurs. Calling this pure fun would be the biggest understatement ever made.

5Art - 5: Much like the late Tim Sale on many Jeph Loeb's comics, Juan Gedeon is the perfect artist for this book. Anyone else just wouldn't do the visuals justice.

5Cover Art - 5: While I do think Supersaur would have made more sense for this cover, it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to find any flaws in the art.

5Variant Cover Art - 5: It's an interesting take on Darkseid, who, in my opinion, will come out of the Dark Embryo.
