There is much debate on whether Batman should examine Gold Lantern's ring. It is eventually given to Batman. While tests are run, the Legion of Doom's headquarters appears, teeming with Great Darkness residue. Plans are made to search for the time traveler Epoch when Triplicate Girl, whose aged self merged with her younger "sisters", mentions the immortal tyrant Vandal Savage. As the Great Darkness engulfs the Legion of Super-Heroes and the Justice League, Savage reveals it is he who is using the Great Darkness to obliterate the Age of Heroes throughout time and space.

2Story - 2: The closest thing to "Versus" we get in this series is an argument over if Gold Lantern's ring should be looked at by Batman? What is that all about? Okay, I'm calm now. As John Oliver says, "Moving on."

It feels like this series has lost its way with this issue. I'm not sure if that's due to editorial decisions, Bendis' writing, the lateness of the chapters' releases or all of those factors. I tend to think it's everything I've mentioned as I write this. It isn't as bad as the "Legion: Millennium" and "Future State" mini-series. However, considering I liked the previous books in this series, I didn't expect this one to have such a downhill turn in its execution.

4Art - 4: The art looks rushed in some areas, thereby further bringing down the quality of this issue.

4Cover Art - 4: Too much was crammed into this image. It feels like a two page spread was squeezed into a single cover.

4Variant Cover Art - 4: The inking or coloring or both seem off in this otherwise well done variant.
