Scott Cranford

June 28, 2008: The Heroic Life Story of Scott Cranford

The real-life superhero and comics creator shares his story.

In 2000, the call went out from Metropolis, Illinois to find an official spokesperson for their annual Superman Celebration. That person would not only have to fill out the familiar blue, red, and yellow suit, but also embody the personal qualities of the Man of Steel. For eight years, Scott Cranford was that man.

The Heroic World of Scott Cranford by Scott Cranford with Brian K. Morris looks at one man's quest to share his positive philosophies, his creative visions, and a guide for those who wish to be a role model for others to follow.

How does a long-time superhero fan become a stand-in and double for some of Hollywood's most popular action heroes? How did a wire service release lead to one man's message of inspiration, self-belief, and social awareness being spread across the country and to our troops overseas? And how does he prepare for the physical and emotional challenges that come at you faster than a speeding bullet?

"Being accepted as Earth's mightiest hero wasn't easy," admits Cranford, "especially when you are trying to keep old-fashioned values fresh." Now with a following, Cranford drew his new fans to his award winning website, Heroic World, showcasing his creations such as Sharpman and The Earth Avenger. Wizard Magazine calls www.heroicworld.com "one of the coolest and wackiest sites on the web."

Scott Cranford "It's great to watch Scott with his fans," states co-writer Brian K. Morris. "Scott has that kind of charisma you just can't fake and that's what I want to help bring across in the pages of this book."

Filled with numerous pictures and illustrations, The Heroic World of Scott Cranford will be a delight for his many fans as well as for anyone who wants to unleash their inner superhero.

The Heroic World of Scott Cranford will be released by Heroic World Press, tentatively in the Fall of 2008. With dozens of photographs from Cranford's life and career, the softcover book will have a S.R.P. of US$19.95.
