January 9, 2008: Indianapolis Super Heroes Museum Closes

A museum that displayed a collection of Superman, Batman and other super hero memorabilia has closed its doors.

The American Super Heroes Museum in downtown Indianapolis displayed the collection of Dane Nash of Fishers.

Nash didn't indicate the reason for closing the museum, which has been shut since Dec. 31. It opened last spring.

Nash retired from the property insurance business in 2006 to devote his full attention to fulfilling his dream of opening a museum to display the thousands of items he's collected.

The 3,300 square-foot museum included scores of items, including costumes worn by television and movie actors who portrayed the Man of Steel, Superboy and Supergirl.
