February 22, 2008: Modern-Day Athletes Emulate Superman
The Orlando Sentinel has published an article remarking on how modern-day atheletes are regularly compared to Superman in the media, and how many of them are either Superman fans or have been nicknamed "Superman".
- "Superman is everything you want to be as an athlete," [Tim] Tebow says. "He's powerful and unstoppable. He's fast and can fly. And he's always doing good deeds. We all should strive to be more like Superman."
Isn't it weird how so much in sports has changed over the years, but Superman somehow is still in fashion? How can this big blue Boy Scout from the 1930s still be all the rage in today's hyped up hip-hop era?
