"Superhero: The Secret Origin of a Genre" is an entertaining and exhaustive history, tracing the superhero's roots in mythology, science fiction, and pulps, which follows the genre's development to its current renaissance in film, literature, and graphic novels.

Author Peter Coogan has been busy promoting his book recently, with Broken Frontier conducting an interview which you can read at their website, and CBC Radio discussing the book with him.
