April 22, 2007: Michael Rosenbaum at Jules Verne Festival
Al Gough and Miles Millar, co-creators of "Smallville" attended the 2007 Jules Verne Festival with actor Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) at the Rex Theatre in Paris recently. Our source at the event sent us along a couple of photos of Michael Rosenbaum's entrance, along with the following bits of news coming out of the festival...
It was confirmed that "Smallville" could last 8 seasons, however Michael Rosenbaum (who was like a one-man show, telling jokes, sending up Tom Welling, and doing a moonwalk across the stage) has a contract that only lasts until the end of season 7, however he could return for guest appearances should an 8th season happen. Tom Welling is signed with the show through an 8th season.
A tribute to John Glover was screened, with the actor tied-up with broadway committments unable to attend the Festival as originally planned.
Other cast members mentioned were Aaron Ashmore, who has apparently signed on to appear in at least 13 episodes in season 7. However Justin Hartley will not be re-appearing as Green Arrow next season as he's attached to a different project.
