January 15, 2007: Kelly Souders Talks “Smallville” Season 6

WizardUniverse.com caught up with "Smallville" staff writer and story editor Kelly Souders to get some inside info on what we can expect from the TV show in 2007. Here's a few excerpts from the interview...

What can you say about "Justice," the episode airing in January that will feature a prototype version of the Justice League?

It's the beginning of a circle of friends who we'd love to see re-emerge. The Flash [Kyle Gallner], Aquaman [Alan Ritchson] and Cyborg [Lee Thompson Young] will all return.

Is the relationship between Clark and Lois headed in the romantic direction we all know it's destined for or is that still a ways off?

It's certainly a long-term thing, as we know it took Clark and Lois [Erica Durance] forever to admit they liked each other [in the comics]. You will certainly see some more fun moments hinting at what may be underneath.

Will the Phantom Zone escapees continue to be the principal villains of this season?

There's a little something up somebody's sleeve coming down the pipeline. [The Phantom Zone villains are] certainly the worst thing Clark has ever had to face. He's at a disadvantage he's never been at before, given that the villains he's up against have the same as or even great abilities than him. He may have some betrayal in his future which could turn rather badly for him.
