Allison Mack

April 3, 2007: Allison Mack's Blog

Allison Mack has teamed with AllisonMack.com to bring her own personal blog to the online world.

The website also has a new interview with the actress (who plays Chloe Sullivan on "Smallville") in which she talks about the idea of directing an episode herself, and what it was like working with the "Justice League"...

Q: Would you consider directing an episode yourself?

ALLISON: Funny you mention that. Tom's been driving me nuts about directing an episode here. No-- I hadn't given it any thought at all until Michael did it. And then I thought, "Well, maybe there's something to this," and I started questioning why it is that I haven't thought about it. Am I afraid? Or am I just really not interested? Or what is it about the art of directing that I'm so intimidated by? So I've slowly started meeting with the different directors that we have and asking them about the process of reading the story and leaving the directors notes and reading the scripts and all the different stages. I'm just trying to get a handle of the art of what it actually means to direct and what it takes to direct, and then I'll be able to make the decision of whether I'll do it or not. I definitely want to be a filmmaker at some point in my career. I don't want to limit myself to just acting. So whether that means directing or producing or developing, or whatever that means, I want to be a part of creating something from the ground up rather than just joining the team in the last stretch. So, if anything, all of this research I'm doing about directing is really just giving me a great idea of what goes into creating a show and what goes into prep and what goes into development. So, I'm learning a lot, but at the same time, I don't know if I'll actually apply it to directing or not. I don't know. I might! I'm not closing that door.

Q: Some of your fans wanted to know what it was like being surrounded by all of those gorgeous men in "Justice."

ALLISON: [Laughs] It was GREAT!! Oh are you kidding me? It was a blast! Being the only woman and getting to work with all those boys... It was wonderful! And they're all... They're lovely. I mean, Lee is one of the kindest men I've met in a long time (he plays Cyborg), and Kyle is such a sweet, dear person. Justin is just hysterically funny, as is Alan-- And that is always entertaining and very exciting. I felt privileged to be a part of that little clique. I was pretty thrilled about that, and that I was the brains behind the organization. That day that I had to do all the stuff in Oliver Queen's office, in that loft with all the screens and pushing all of the buttons, I was like, "Whoaaaaa, this is reeeeally cool!"
