November 1, 2010: See The Superman CANstruction in Long Island

Canstruction SMPS Canstruction Long Island is a design/build competition which raises money for Long Island Cares, Inc. - The Harry Chapin Food Bank.

Currently open to the public until November 4th at the RXR Plaza in Uniondale, NY, the SMPS Canstruction sees teams of architects and engineers designing and building colossal structures using thousands of full cans of food and other non-perishables as their building materials. The "canstructions" stand up to 8 feet tall. After the event is over, all the food will be donated to Long Island Cares.

This year a Superman canstruction can be seen amongst the exhibition.

Visit www.smpsli.org for further details on the event.
