July 24, 2010: Dallas Superman Musical Looking to Tour
"It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman!", the musical revisal of the 1966 Broadway Musical has been so well received during its run at the Dallas Theater Center that it's looking to tour the U.S.... if legal issues don't get in the way.
- "Superman" will surely have a life beyond Dallas, although some rights issues have to be cleared with DC Comics if it's to return to Broadway.
As the Dallas Theater Center discovered, the show has a built-in audience.
"Comic-book fans are coming out of the woodwork," Moriarty says. "There are Superman Web sites that are the equivalent of allthatchat. If you change the color of the S on Superman's costume, they debate it for days."
