July 25, 2010: Action Comics #1 Saves Family's Home

SDCC Superman saved a family's house from foreclosure and he didn't need to walk anywhere to do it. A family on the verge of losing their home found a copy of 1938's Action Comics #1 in their basement, according to website Asylum:

The fortuitous find occurred when the anonymous family began the painful process of packing up their home due to a bank's foreclosure proceedings. The house had been in the family's possession since the 1950s, which is probably when the wife's father stashed the issue in a box with some other, mere mortal titles.

Steven Fishler of New York's Comic Connect and Metropolis Collectibles is selling the issue for the family. Read the entire story at Asylum.
