July 17, 2010: SupermanBobHoliday.com Visits Dallas Superman "Revisal"

Bob Holiday as Superman The spectacular Dallas Theater Center "revisal" of the hit Charles Strouse/Lee Adams musical "It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman" takes center stage on the latest update of www.SupermanBobHoliday.com, the website for Bob Holiday, star of the original 1966 Broadway production.

Web Hostess Toni Collins has traveled to Dallas to attend the show and will be reviewing it for the site. The DTC's new production, It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman is underway now until July 25, at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Starring as Superman is Matt Cavenaugh (seen in recent Broadway revivals of West Side Story and A Catered Affair), along with Patrick Cassidy, in his father Jack Cassidy's original role as Max Mencken. (Patrick Cassidy has also appeared as the son of Lex Luthor in several episodes of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and as Lana Lang's father in Smallville.) This new production is described as a "revisal," as it features an updated script by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and four new Strouse-Adams songs.

Other features of www.SupermanBobHoliday.com include rare videos of Bob as Superman; photos of Bob's appearance at the 25th Annual Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois; The Daily Planet Broadway Edition from the original cast LP; and more.

Critic Elaine Liner in The Dallas Observer calls the show "bright, funny, and downright inspiring...visually and technically, it's a stunning piece of big-budget theater."
