April 6, 2016: Two New DC Movies Scheduled at Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. One report at The Hollywood Reporter states that Warner Bros. could be changing their business model to release fewer films in light of the financial drop off at the box office for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" in its second week.

Warners maintains there has been no change in policy. "Warner Bros. has historically had the biggest, most diverse slate in the motion picture industry," says a rep in a statement. "We did last year, we will this year, and we will continue to do so into the foreseeable future." (The studio says it will release 18 movies this year and is projected to release 19 in 2017.)

However a second report at The Hollywood Reporter seems to contradict that speculation with the announcement that Warner Bros. is not only moving up the release date of "Wonder Woman" from June 23, 2017, to June 2, 2017, but that they've also now set dates for two previously-unannounced DC Comics films for October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019.

These new dates are set for yet-to-be announced films and are in addition to the already set DC films, which include Suicide Squad (Aug. 5, 2016), The Flash (March 16, 2018), The Justice League Part One (Nov. 17, 2017), Aquaman (July 27, 2018), Shazam! (April 5, 2019), Justice League Part Two (June 14, 2019), Cyborg (April 3, 2020) and Green Lantern Corps (June 19, 2020).

Speculation is that the October 5, 2018 movie could be a stand-alone Batman film, while the November 1, 2019 movie could be a stand-alone Superman film.

Meanwhile, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" has now taken in over $700 million worldwide within 2 weeks of its release.
