April 6, 2002: “Smallville” DVD Coming in June? - Update
A report on the "TV Shows on DVD" website indicates that a "Smallville" DVD will be released on June 4, 2002.The report indicates that news from Warner Home Video was received with the following information regarding the release of a "Smallville" DVD...
Length: 91 minutes (possibly contains the pilot and something more)
Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1
Extras: Audio commentary by Producers Alfred Gough & Miles Millar and Pilot Director David Nutter; Interactive Map of Smallville Storyboard to Screen; Interactive Menus; Trailer; Scene Access.
However my sources in the U.S. division of Warner Home Video indicate that this report is NOT true for America. A spokesperson at Warner Home Video told the Superman Homepage, "There are no plans to release this title this year. There has been no start of production on SMALLVILLE to DVD."
However, my source went on to say, "Yes, it's my understanding that SMALLVILLE will be available internationally this year, including Canada."
Whether or not this DVD will be available in the U.S. and where it will be available other than Canada has yet to be confirmed. The image shown top-right is reportedly of the "Smallville" DVD cover and was sourced from the Dark Horizons website.
