March 16, 2002: Superman-related Saturn Award Nominations
The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films has announced the nominees for the 28th annual Saturn Awards. The list, published today by Variety, includes a number of Superman-related movie and TV nominations."Smallville" was nominated for:
- Best Network Television Series: Smallville (competitors in the same category: Angel, Buffy, Dark Angel, Enterprise, The X-Files)
- Best Actor In A Television Series: Tom Welling (competitors: Richard Dean Anderson, Scott Bakula, David Boreanaz, Ben Browder, Robert Patrick)
- Best Actress In A Television Series: Kristin Kreuk (competitors: Jessica Alba, Gillian Anderson, Claudia Black, Yancy Butler, Sarah Michelle Gellar)
- Best Supporting Actor In A Teleivison Series: Michael Rosenbaum (competitors: Christopher Judge, James Marsters, Anthony Simcoe, Connor Trinneer, Michael Weatherly)
The Special Edition DVD of "Superman: The Movie" also received a nomination for "Best DVD Classic Film Release."
The winners will be revealed in the 28th Annual Saturn Awards in Los Angeles in June.
